In this year for the third time Auer Festival, which is held int he respect of the world famous violinist and composer teacher Lipót Auer, who was born in Veszprém, will be held in Veszprém between 2 and 6 August.

The aim of the organizer Mendelssohn Chamber Orchestra is to bring those artists, who are performance in the world most important concert halls as the classical music life’s leading men, to the beautiful city of Veszprém. This year Vadim Repin will come, too, who represents the world famous Russian violin school’s life tradition. This school was established by Lipót Auer. Ray Chen will also come to Veszprém, he is the outstanding representative of the youngest violin generation, his fan base follow him because of his special exploration, exciting concerts. Here will be Suyoen Kim, who is a German-Taiwanese violinist and gives a Bach solo evening in the St. Michael Basilica. With the contribution of Dezső Ránki the Keller String Quartet will performance, but Péter Frankl pianist will be the quest of the festival, too. He will performance Beethoven’s Piano Competition in G major in the association of Mendelssohn Chamber Orchestra, which is the festival’s resident orchestra.

The Festival’s opening concert will be performance by the Auer Trio, which was established by Balázs Fülei pianist, Péter Kováts violinist and István Varga violoncellist, in their performance the audience can hear the musical pieces of Schubert and Tchaikovsky.

The youngest ones will also participate in the Auer Festival: the successful Gárdonyi Youth Chamber Orchestra of Veszprém and the youngest talents supporting Career Office of Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music will attend.

The swing and jazz will be the main theme in this year: Tcha Limberger will performance with the Canarro band, but there will be a speciality, too: the concert of the amazing acting, violinist and comedian talent Aleksey Igudesman, who will show the special mixture of the classical music and natively levity with the Mendelssohn Chamber Orchestra.

Via the Festival Lipót Auer, who shined the whole world with his perfect art, knowledge, coming from Veszprém, now he makes Veszprém to world famous.
