After the Hungarian democratic transformation it became evident that the region is not a closed economic and cultural area anymore. Over the past decades the growing presence of international companies in Europe, and the increasing interest of local firms in dynamically developing Asian and other regions resulted, among other things, in a lot of misunderstandings, communication problems and dead ends. Globalization has made industries more competitive so it is vital for organizations to have the right international skill set. The failure rate of international joint ventures and mergers is staggering. Organizations have realized that diversity is not just a moral consideration, it makes business sense as well. Each marketplace has its own parameters for how business people in it like to be communicated with.
